It is said that it was here Krishna and Radha met for the first time. Looking at each other’s beauty they were awe stuck and became overwhelmed. Tears rolled out of their eyes and with their tears this puranic kund was formed. Close to it is a land for Van , temple of Sanket Bihari and a raasmandal.
The kund was lying in the state of neglect. It’s ghats and the temple were dilapidated and it was full of silt. The forest had no trees. The villagers of Sanket village were keen on it’s restoration but did not have the required funds.
With the financial support of Mr Kamal Morarka the foundation started it’s de-silting and finished the job in three months. After which a complete development plan was made and sent to the Ministry of Tourism, GoI, which has accepted our proposal and sanctioned the money to UP Tourism Dept. for it’s further restoration.
Our plan includes complete beautification of the kund, forestation and development of the Van, restoration of the temple and rasmandal. We also need to erect barbed wire fencing around the whole area so to protect it’s environment and to check encroachment.
If we later feel that govt. has not completed the required renovation then we will raise resources to complete the work.
