There are over 1300 villages in entire region of Braj. Out of which 650 villages are associated with various pastimes of Shri Radha Krishna. Approximately 85% sub soil water in Braj is saline. Salinity starts from the upper layer of strata.
Due to the neglect of pasture land in the villages or due to its encroachment for habitation ,there is an acute scarcity of fodder for the livestock. Despite being the land of Gopal adulterated and synthetic milk is being liberally sold in Braj area. Rural youth are unemployed. So the social condition of the villages is bad. Rich heritage is being damaged by the smugglers and land mafia. Forests are deserted and are lying barren. All these villages need total improvement and the condition of the Brajwasis living in them also needs to be improved. Because of their tremendous potential these villages need to be developed as centers of rural tourism.
